A free course has re-launched allowing people to have a go on electric-powered bikes alongside a guide – and, afterwards, to claim back £300 from the cost of an e-bike.
County residents can now book online onto the next sessions, which are being held on Wednesday, 20 November at Leicestershire County Council's County Hall HQ at Glenfield from 9am to 12 noon and again from 1pm to 4pm.
For the first time, this year's courses are being held in different areas of the county including Melton Mowbray, Charnwood, West Leicestershire, Market Harborough and Hinckley.
Jacqui Beard, from north-west Leicestershire, has taken part in one of the courses and has described her experience in a recent blog.
Jacqui said: “I was soon cycling around with a big grin on my face. There’s so much untapped potential for e-bikes – there are lots of health benefits.”
We champion e-bikes as one of the many ways in which residents can travel across Leicestershire, whether for commuting or for pleasure, and these sessions are a great way to try something new. The scheme helps people travel in a way that works for them.

The scheme is run by Choose How You Move, who encourage alternative travel options such as cycling, walking, and wheeling. It's not available for Leicester City residents.
Attendees to the e-bike course can expect guidance on different makes and models of e-bikes, including accessible options for disabled cyclists as well as e-bike maintenance and safety.
