A roadshow for families of children and young people with special needs and disabilities (SEND) is being held in Barwell this Tuesday 9 May.

The event will take place from 10am-1pm at the George Ward Centre, Church Lane, LE9 8DG, and is open to anyone who would like to find out about available support and access useful information from a range of local SEND services.

Organisations in attendance include Leicestershire County Council’s Children and Family Wellbeing Service, and the Hinckley and Bosworth Health and Recreation Team.

Jane Moore, Director of Children and Family Services, said: “It is important to make sure that support for the families of children and young people with special education needs and disabilities is accessible as possible, and our roadshows are an ideal way to highlight what is available.

“The roadshow also gives the chance for people find out about help available specifically in their local area, as well as meeting other families in a relaxed environment.”

The event has been organised by Leicestershire County Council working in partnership with a wide range of other local organisations including Menphys, Leicestershire Music and the Young Adults Disabilities team.
