Last chance for disabled children’s support views

Last chance for families to give feedback

A family

There’s one week left for Leicestershire families to have their say on support for young people with disabilities.

The survey closes at the end of May and we want people to comment on how we can improve the services provided to young people across the county.

Current contracts for the short break, domiciliary care, specialist summer schemes and early support and inclusions services come to an end in March 2017.

Before re-commissioning the services, the council’s urging users to comment on what is important to them and where improvements could be made.

Working with Leicestershire Family Voice, the council will give parents the opportunity to provide feedback that will ultimately help to shape the services and their delivery.

It’s really important that children and families get the opportunity to shape the support that they receive. There’s one week left so I’d urge people to make sure they've given us their feedback.

Annie Bannister, Chair of Leicestershire Family Voice, said: “Five years of Leicestershire Family Voice working in co-production with Leicestershire County Council has shown everyone the immense value - the necessity - of parents being involved in shaping future services."

The tenders for the services are due to go out in the summer with a view to having a decision made by the council in the autumn. The new contracts will come into action in April 2017.

People can give their views until midnight on Monday 30 May 2016 by folllowing this consultation link
