There’s festive cheer with free travel for bus passengers using any of 12 new seasonal services which are being launched by the county council.
The temporary services are being put on with Bus Service Improvement Plan funding and will be delivered by operators on behalf of Leicestershire Buses.
The services across the county will increase access to local destinations as well as festive events as the council offers more encouragement for people to travel by bus.
Leicestershire Buses is a partnership between the county council and local bus operators which aims to deliver projects to support the council’s ambitions.
The aim of all our bus improvement plans is to keep people connected and to support local communities – and the festive season is a perfect time to do this.

It’s another great example of our Enhanced Partnership with operators working collectively under our new Leicestershire Buses brand and shows how grant funding from central Government can benefit residents and boost bus travel.
One of the new temporary services will serve Gates Garden Centre, at Cold Overton near Oakham, which is a popular Christmas destination.
This service will run on 6th, 13th and 20th December, which are all Fridays. Leicestershire Buses has teamed up with Ausden Clark and Gates to deliver the service from Melton Mowbray. Passengers will also benefit from a free hot drink in the garden centre restaurants when they show a valid voucher.
Other routes will serve local Christmas markets, town centres and key tourist destinations such as Conkers and Twycross Zoo. The full list of seasonal services – and terms and conditions on the free drink offer - can be found on the Festive Timetables section of the Choose How You Move website.
