Kind-hearted individuals are being encouraged to step forward and find out about becoming foster parents for vulnerable children and young people in Leicestershire.

Leicestershire County Council is holding an informal information evening from 6.30pm to 8pm on Thursday, 26 October, at County Hall in Glenfield. It will feature Kelly, one of our fostering families’ birth daughters, who will be talking about her experience of being part of a fostering family.

As October is Sons and Daughters month – a celebration of the birth children of foster parents – the event is a perfect opportunity for people who are interested in fostering, but perhaps worried about what their own children will think of becoming a fostering family, to find out more and cast these doubts aside.

We welcome people from all backgrounds to join our fostering family and our fostering events are the ideal platform for those thinking about fostering to find out more.

“This month is Sons and Daughters Month and as such is celebrating the birth children of our foster families, but, regardless of whether you have your own children or not, fostering is a hugely rewarding journey and our team will be on hand to help potential foster parents at whatever stage of their journey.
