Leicestershire residents have until midnight on Monday (25) to have their say on county council budget proposals.
The council has unveiled proposals to save £26 million next year – rising to £78 million by 2020 – and increase Council Tax by 3.99 per cent. The proposals aim to balance the books at a time the council is losing its Government grant and demand for expensive care services is growing.
People can have their say on the proposals at www.leicestershire.gov.uk/budget till midnight on January 25. The council’s cabinet will consider the consultation results when it finalises the budget proposals on February 5, before the full council takes a final decision on February 17.
