Warning Zone – Youth Offending Service

Warning Zone is a referral only groupIt offers young people aged 10-18 an interactive experience. Warning Zone runs every school holiday.The group is run by a team of specialist youth justice workers. Sessions are aimed at teaching young people about making the right choices to keep them free from harm or being at risk of criminal activity, by enabling them to visit a number of zones including:•             Personal safety•             Alcohol and anti-social behaviour and consequences•             Criminal damage and arson•             Risk around railways•             Retail theft – learn from a shop manager, who speaks to young people about his real life victim experiences, when goods from his shop were stolen.•             Cyber bullying•             Empathy•             Learning quizSessions take place at the Warning Zone in Leicester City.Warning Zone is a Life-Skills Centre and children safeguarding charity, which aims to deliver life-saving messages to young people living in Leicestershire and Rutland.Following attendance on this group Young People will have a greater understanding of victim empathy as well as building their own self-esteem.Sessions last 2 hrs 15 mins starting at 1.45 to 4pmGroups could be subject to changeReferralsAttendance at this group is through prior arrangement with Youth Justice Worker and is of no charge.  Young People will be required to make their way safely to and from the sessions.All referrals are screened by the coordinator and we send an invite to the young, once they are selected.To request more information or to make a referral call 0116 305 0030 or email   youthoffendingservice@leics.gov.uk
