JGFC is a Lotto funded, registered charity.
We have been providing groups and social hubs for adults with learning disabilities in Derbyshire for 25 years. Our social Hubs provide our members with an opportunity to socialise and learn new transferable skills in a relaxed and friendly environment.
We have two social hubs running at the moment. Our first Hub is based in Clowne and has been running for over a year, and a Hub in Ripley that has recently opened.
Our members are adults aged 18+ that have a wide range of learning disabilities and care needs.
In the Hub we encourage our members to be heavily involved in what they want to be on the itinerary and plan themes around their ideas. We organise days out and a weekend away for our members. We also have visits from Guide dogs for the blind, the local police force and the fire brigade to pass on safety advice and how our members can be safe in their community, along with other groups that can pass on fun and relevant information.
We are opening a Social Hub in West Leake in the coming months.
