Alma House Therapies is a counselling and support service which specialises in supporting neurodiverse individuals. Our service is ran by Victoria Sumner (BSc Dip.Couns MBPsS MBACP VTCT MInstLM) who is a BACP accredited counsellor with additional qualifications in neurodiversity, mental health first aid and mindfulness. Additionally, Victoria has Level 2 qualifications in Safeguarding, Equality and Diversity and Children and Young People's Mental Health. Alma House Therapies in based in Earl Shilton, Leicestershire at a sensory friendly therapy space which includes low lighting and access to sensory aids (e.g. weighted blankets, ear defenders and stim toys). In addition to being a qualified therapist, Victoria is also neurodiverse herself so is able to offer not just counselling and guidance as a professional but has real lived experience of being neurodiverse and learning how to improve self-care, managing sensory processing issues and supporting mental health as a neurodiverse individual.
