It’s hoped that a goal to recruit more foster carers will be achieved at the King Power stadium this weekend.

Leicestershire County Council’s Fostering Team will be visiting the home of the Premier League champions on Sunday, ahead of their kick-off with Manchester United.

Staff hope to strike a chord with fans when they bring their colourful ‘fostering bus’ to the stadium. They will be outside, offering advice and information on becoming a foster carer.

We’d like to urge Leicester City Fans to become champions themselves – fostering champions in this case.

“We are always in need of people to ‘foster for Leicestershire’. Leicestershire people offering Leicestershire children safe, secure homes in their own communities.

“If you’re at the match on Sunday, please do take the time to have a chat or pick up our contact details. You can find out what fostering is all about and consider becoming a fostering champion by helping us spread the word.

“You never know, next season you could be taking a foster child in your care to a game with you.

The county’s Children in Care Council has been invited to the match to watch their team take on the Red Devils. Some of the youngsters will be just metres away from their heroes when they get the opportunity to be pitch side.
