Find out about fostering at event

Residents invited to find out what it takes to be a foster carer

Fostering in Leicestershire

People thinking about fostering have the chance to chat to foster carers at a special event this week.

The informal event will be held from 6.30pm to 8pm on Thursday, 7 December, at County Hall in Glenfield, and will provide an opportunity for people to meet and talk to carers, as well as the council’s fostering team.

Every year the county council actively looks for new prospective foster carers to come forward and, with Christmas around the corner, the council is hoping the season of goodwill encourages people to find out more.

Leicestershire’s children in care need families from their communities to offer them loving homes.

“Fostering is a very worthwhile activity and current foster parents tell me they feel it makes a real difference to a child’s life chances.

"I would urge all of you who are interested to attend an information evening and find out more. If you can make a difference to a child in need come along to find out how you could help.
