Get work ready with free webinars

Four online sessions offered to residents

A list of work ready webinars for January and February 2024

Top tips for boosting confidence and skills when applying for jobs are the focus of four free webinars being hosted by Leicestershire County Council.

The authority’s Digital Leicestershire team is collaborating with BT Group to offer residents free sessions in January and February.

The one-hour online slots will be delivered by BT Group experts who will cover job applications, CVs, interviews and assessment centres.

Councillor Pam Posnett, cabinet member for communities, said: “These webinars come at a perfect time for our residents.

“The new year is a great time to be thinking about future goals and career aspirations. I hope these webinars help build individuals confidence and help them access employment.

“Anyone can sign up and join – and we’d particularly encourage people looking for work or thinking of moving into a new career to get involved.”

Amy Caton, Senior manager, Social Impact at BT, said: “We’re committed to helping people make the most of life in a digital world and develop the skills they need to get a job or make a career change. We want to help them adapt to evolving ways of working and stand out in a competitive job market.

"We believe these bite-sized, interactive webinars are a great opportunity for anyone looking to get their 2024 job hunt off to a strong start."

All of the sessions will be held on Microsoft Teams and will run between 1-2pm:

  • Boosting your job application – Wednesday 17 January
  • Make your CV work for you – Wednesday 24 January
  • Be a hit at interviews – Wednesday 31 January
  • Get a head start with assessment centres – Wednesday 7 February
