Knossington & Somerby Pre-School

Knossington & Somerby Pre-School is situated in the heart of a small rural community in the village of Knossington. Not only does the pre-school offer a wide range of activities to challenge and stimulate the children, this idyllic setting offers endless opportunities to explore and learn outside. The children often go on local farm walks, pick blackberries, grow and harvest vegetables in our own allotment and feed cade lambs at a local small holding. Staff ratios are high, typically 1:4, allowing flexibility for trips out and 1 to 1 working. We nurture the children through play, to learn and develop following the Early Years Foundation Stage. Play is always child led but we ensure that they achieve nationally approved learning outcomes so that they can progress with confidence to primary school. Detailed and comprehensive planning and recording enables staff to provide individual experiences to suit each child, creating a valued and inclusive environment.
