My wife and I are both registered childminders. We run a home from home childcare provision. We work as a team and do lots of things together. We have lots of patience and we try to spend time with individual children and make them feel at home. We have a good relationship with parents and relay information daily. We see ourselves as childminders, teachers and parents. We have been registered since 1999 during which time we have run creches, parent and toddler groups and organized carnival floats and other events. We believe that children are our next generation and should be treated with respect. They should be able to learn through play and have structured surroundings, learn rules of life and consequences that for every action there is an opposite reaction. But most of all we believe that children have the right to enjoy their childhood, so this means having time to jump in puddles, ride bikes and have lots of fun.
