Thinking of fostering
 Children and Families Partnership

It aims to champion effective partnership working, enabling agencies to recognise shared priorities and to work together better to deliver outcomes that make a real difference.

The Partnership Vision

Our Children and Families Partnership Plan brings together partners who work closely with our children and young people. Over the past 3 years we've made great strides in improving the lives of our children and young people, their families and carers in Leicestershire.

A partnership approach where the child’s voice is at the forefront of all our thinking and action, provides a safe and supportive culture for our children to thrive. This is turn supports our vision that children and young people in Leicestershire are safe and living in families where they can achieve their full potential.

We are united as partners and I am incredibly proud to be the Chair of the partnership as we move forward over the next three years.

Children and Families Partnership Plan: Our Children – Our Future

The Children and Families Partnership oversees the delivery of the partnership plan which sets out our ambition for children and families.

To make this happen the Children and Families Partnership focus on 5 priority areas, linked to the outcomes in Leicestershire’s Joint Health and Wellbeing Strategy that relate to children and young people:

Priority 1: Children have the best start for life (early years)

Priority 2: Children are safe and free from harm

Priority 3: Families are supported to be self-sufficient and resilient (early help)

Priority 4: Vulnerable families receive personalised, integrated care and support

Priority 5: Children have good physical, emotional and mental health

Early Help Partnership

Leicestershire Early Help Partnership is a multi-agency partnership made up of organisations working together to support families across the county.

Early Help is a shared approach to strengthening resilience and improving outcomes for children and families. Helping early is about providing support as soon as a problem emerges, at any point in a child’s life.

Best Start for Life Partnership

As a partnership, we're committed to the promotion of the First 1001 Critical Days and believe this is fundamental in all we do when working with children and their families.

We want to make sure all parents and carers understand the important role they play in enhancing their child’s brain development in that specific window of opportunity from conception to 2 years old.

We believe that every child deserves to have the best possible start to school life, families, early years providers, 0 to 5 services and schools all have a shared responsibility to ensure that the first steps of a child’s journey through school are successful.
