Beaumanor Hall’s educational school activity programme has been honoured for the 14th year in a row.

A rite-of-passage visit for many Leicestershire schoolgoers over the years, Leicestershire County Council-run Beaumanor Hall has offered an array of learning experiences from foundation stage up to post-16.

The venue is marking its 50th year of hosting young people from across Leicestershire and other parts of the country and has again been given the ‘Learning Outside the Classroom (LOtC) Quality Badge’ – the only nationally recognised scheme that highlights the quality of learning for all types of learning outside the classroom.

Their nationally recognised activities include their ‘day in the life of a Viking’ experience, their iconic for many ‘Victorian Day’ and team building days that can incorporate their seven-metre-high climbing wall and high ropes course.

Beaumanor’s ‘World War II’ experience is also a highlight for many schools, drawing heavily from the hall’s rich history to enhance the children’s experience. During World War II, Beaumanor was instrumental in the effort to break the German Enigma code.

The LOtC Quality Badge is endorsed by the Department of Education and schools are encouraged to choose a badge holder when booking trips and activities for pupils.

“This is a fantastic achievement for all of the staff and their commitment. The examiner said that we are well organised and offer excellent activity sessions, and this is testament to their work.

“Generations of Leicestershire residents and students from further afield have roamed the hallways of Beaumanor Hall on a school visit. We are proud to continue to host top-quality sessions for the youth of Leicestershire and beyond.”

Beaumanor also offers overnight residentials and the choice to bring activities, including a mobile climbing wall, to you. Any schools or youth groups looking for their next outdoor learning experience can visit the Beaumanor Hall website to find out more.
