Leicestershire County Council is calling on organisations involved in supporting children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) to register for this year’s Local Offer Live and make it the biggest event yet.
Local Offer Live takes place on Tuesday 24 January at Curve Theatre in Leicester, and is an annual event which helps to put children and young people with SEND, as well as parents and carers, in touch with local and regional services.
“We want to encourage as many people as possible to attend this year’s Local Offer Live, as this is a great way for service providers and specialist groups to connect with some truly inspirational people. There are a fantastic range of events taking place this year which will attract thousands of people from across the region, so make sure you don’t miss out and be part of the celebration.”Person:Councillor Ivan Ould, cabinet member for children and families
Now in its third year, Local Offer Live has grown substantially and is expected to reach record attendance figures, with thousands of people heading to the day-long event. On show will be a number of educational workshops, family activities, and free performances taking place throughout the day.
The annual celebration is the biggest event of its kind in the region, and organisations that showcase their services at Curve will not only be able to engage with people attending, but also learn from customers about the challenges they face. They can also network with other organisations, and see whether there is a potential opportunity to provide further services in a particular area.
Local Offer Live is supported by the council as well as Leicester City Council, Remploy, NHS and other organisations.
If you want to attend this year’s spectacle and showcase your service, charity or support group there’s still time to book your place – but don’t delay as places are limited. You can book your place for the event by visiting www.curveevents.co.uk/local-offer-live
