The government has issued advice on protecting birds from avian flu.

The Department of Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) is advising people to keep chickens, hens, ducks and turkeys housed indoors or kept separately from wild birds to protect them from avian flu.

The restrictions will remain in place until 6 January. Further advice is available by visiting the Defra website.
