Leicestershire County Council is supporting Carers Rights Day on Friday, 25 November as it is vitally important that carers know their rights and can access expert advice on financial and practical support or other challenges they may be facing.
Figures from the 2011 census show there are more than 70,000 unpaid carers in Leicestershire.
Carers do a wonderful job that can often put emotional strain on their personal lives. Many people don’t realise they are carers and could be missing out on support which could make their lives easier.Person:Councillor Dave Houseman, county council cabinet member for adult social care
