We offer apprenticeships at County Hall and with other employers throughout the county.

Apprenticeships in Leicestershire

The Adult Learning Service offers a range of apprenticeships with different employers across Leicestershire.

GOV.UK explains apprenticeships and the different levels of qualifications you can gain.

All vacancies are listed on the National Apprenticeship Service where you can apply online.

As an apprentice, you’ll receive:

  • on-the-job training and assessment
  • one to one visits at the workplace by a dedicated assessor
  • regular tutorials
  • online training resources, including tutor support
  • functional skills training in English and Maths (unless exempt)

Apprenticeships offered by the Adult Learning Service

Working in schools

Supporting Teaching and Learning qualification - for Learning support assistants and anyone supporting classroom activities.

Office work

Business Administration and IT Application Specialist qualifications - for anyone working in an administrative role using a range of computing and IT skills.

Childcare

Children and Young People’s Workforce and Early Years Educator qualifications - for nursery nurses, children’s centre staff, playgroup workers, classroom support workers (nursery based), child-minders and their assistants or nannies.

Care work

Health and Social Care qualification - for care workers, personal assistants and support workers.

Customer facing roles

Customer Services qualification – for anyone in a front line customer facing role.

Traineeships

We also offer Traineeships for 16 -24 year olds.

The venue and start dates for the upcoming Traineeship programmes are:

  • Loughborough Moira Centre - 22 November 2016
  • Loughborough Moira Centre - 7 March 2017
  • Loughborough Library - 4 July 2017

Offering Maths and English Functional Skills, CACHE Employability Award and includes an 8 week work experience placement.
