Market Harborough transport plans

Share your views and ideas on plans to improve the transport network in and around Market Harborough.

Opens new windowFuture housing growth and changing employment needs mean that pressure on Market Harborough’s road network will continue to grow.

We’ve worked with Harborough District Council to come up with a number of proposals to help deal with this and we’d like to hear what you think about them. We’d also like to hear your own ideas on what could help.

Proposed measures we’d like your views about include:

  • Junction and traffic signal improvements
  • Considering the upgrade of Welland Park Road into the A4304
  • Extending and enhancing walking and cycling facilities
  • Localised public transport infrastructure improvements
  • Lorry weight restrictions
  • Increasing the height of the Rockingham Road rail bridge
  • Improving the streetscape
  • A possible £50m relief road

The feedback we receive is really important as it will put us in a stronger position to secure funding to make key improvements a reality.

The findings will be reported back to a future meeting Harborough's Executive and the council’s ruling Cabinet, which will be asked to adopt a transport strategy for Market Harborough.

We'll then seek to secure money to implement the schemes.

To submit your views, please read the summary document provided then continue to the online questionnaire to provide your feedback. For background, you can also read the Market Harborough Transport Study (item 479) which has informed these proposals and was considered by the council's Cabinet last September.
