Publication scheme

The publication scheme commits us to regularly publish information that helps explain how we work and how we spend money.

Types of information we publish

Our publication scheme sets out the types of information we publish. Most of the information is available on this website and can be found using the search facility. If you can’t find what you’re looking for online then you can make an information request.

We publish information about:

Who we are and what we do

  • Organisational information, locations and contacts, constitutional and legal governance.

What we spend and how we spend it

  • Financial information relating to projected and actual income and expenditure, tendering, procurement and contracts.

What our priorities are and how we are doing

  • Strategy and performance information, plans, assessments, inspections and reviews.

How we make decisions

  • Policy proposals and decisions. Decision-making processes, procedures and consultations.

Our policies and procedures

  • Current written protocols for delivering our services, functions and responsibilities.

Lists and registers

  • Information held in the registers required by law and other lists and registers relating to the functions of the authority.

Services we provide

  • Advice and guidance, booklets and leaflets, transactions and media releases. A description of the services offered.

The types of information will generally not include:

  • Information that we cannot share by law, is exempt under the Freedom of Information act, or is otherwise properly considered to be protected from disclosure.
  • Information in draft form.
  • Information that is no longer readily available as it has been archived or is difficult to access for similar reasons.

Making an information request

If you can’t find the information you’re looking for on this website, email foi@leics.gov.uk to make a request. See making a Freedom of Information request.

  • We aim to provide information from the publication scheme within 5 working days.
  • Where printed formats are available at specific locations you can visit and ask to see the information.

Costs

  • We make a wide range of pre-printed information available for free, but we do charge for some larger documents.
  • Where information is printed off or copied for any enquiry we reserve the right to make a reasonable copying charge. Usually when the document is over 10 pages or more than one copy is requested.
